The Fifth Graders at my school spend a few days at Nature's Classroom every year at the beginning of the year. They miss Art while they are away!

This year I decided to give them an Art "assignment" to do while they were there. Before they left we watched Andy Goldsworthy's Rivers and Tides. They were REALLY into it. Here are some of the sculptures they made in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.

New Dresses

I am going to try to start blogging again!
Well, I think I might already be exaggerating, since really I have only ever published one post. Ever.
My plan is to shoot for once or twice every two weeks. I will share new sewing projects and designs and student projects from school.

So......here are some adult dresses that I recently stitched. And a shirt.
All three were made from pre-existing garments.

Sunday with Sweet Pea

I am just learning to do this. These are the pictures I wanted to post on Sunday, but couldn't figure out how to get the pictures in the right place.

We painted with salt paint. Arjun was into the paper at first.

Then he tasted it.

Then he painted me. Then himself. And then....

My babe is entirely brilliant, so

he began to paint the driveway......

I helped. I think we'll do this all the time from now on. Who says our broken concrete driveway is not the most beautiful one around?
